Adding Asus ProArt 32QCV with My Apple XDR – A Photographer’s Dual-Screen Dream Comes True

Full review coming in a few weeks – stay tuned

As a photographer who’s been glued to Apple’s ridiculously pricey Pro Display XDR since its launch, I’ve cherished its stunning 6K clarity and color accuracy for years. It’s my irreplaceable primary workhorse, and I’ve always run it in a multi-monitor setup. But secondary screens? They’ve been a constant compromise. My latest sidekick was a solid Asus 27″ 4K gaming monitor – sharp and responsive, but its glossy, glare-prone texture and mismatched colors made editing sessions a headache next to the XDR’s perfection.

Then buzz hit the photography world about the forthcoming Asus ProArt 32QCV: a 31.5″ powerhouse with native 6K resolution for pixel-perfect matching to the XDR, and early hands-on raves calling it a “clone” at a fraction of Apple’s cost. Photogs who glimpsed it early gushed over its pro-grade calibration and build. I was thrilled – finally, a true companion screen in the same size and resolution, ditching the 4K vs. 6K mismatch that’s bugged me forever!

Finding one was a challenge, but today it arrived. I set it up right next to my XDR, replacing the old 27″ Asus, and… instant love. Out-of-the-box colors align beautifully with just basic tweaks – no more hunting for matches. Same immersive 31.5″ size, silky 6K sharpness across both screens, and that ProArt edge for professional accuracy. My dual-setup workflow feels unified at last.

Full review coming soon from a long-time XDR user: in-depth on color fidelity, uniformity and photo editing in a multi-monitor paradise. If you’re building around an XDR (or dreaming of one), this could be the affordable match photographers have craved.

P.S. Just had a crazy idea: it would be f awesome to flank the XDR with two 32QCVs – one on each side for the ultimate triple-6K editing beast! Haha, wonder if the wife would notice my screen empire expanding? 😏*
