Wings of the Afterlife – The Vulture Series
In the field
Often misunderstood and rarely celebrated, vultures embody one of nature’s most vital roles—transforming death into sustenance, decay into renewal. Wings of the Afterlife captures these enigmatic guardians of the cycle in stark, sculptural monochrome.Through my lens, stripped of color and sentimentality, their forms become almost mythic—wings like cathedral arches, eyes like ancient sentinels. In this chiaroscuro of survival and reverence, the series asks us to reconsider what we call beautiful. These images are not meant to comfort. They’re meant to confront. To reveal the quiet nobility of creatures that live on the edge of perception—and remind us that even in the rawest corners of life, grace endures.
